How to Play MathLeap

MathLeap is a fast mental‑math game: read what the round asks, work out the answer in your head, and tap it before the timer runs out. The core is simple enough to learn in seconds, but the mix of operations, word instructions and game modes keeps it interesting for a long time. This guide covers everything.

The basic idea

Each round shows your current number and an instruction — usually an operation such as + 7 or × 3. Work out the result and tap the box that holds the correct answer. A right answer moves you forward and adds to your score; a wrong answer costs you (unless a Shield is protecting you). Clear enough rounds and you advance to the next level, which is a little harder than the last.

Operations

You start with simple addition. As you progress, more operations unlock so the challenge grows with your skill:

• + Addition — from the very first level.
• − Subtraction — unlocks a few levels in.
• × Multiplication — unlocks later, for a bigger mental workout.
• ÷ Division — appears in the deepest phases.

Word rounds

To keep your brain flexible, some rounds replace the symbol with a short instruction in words. Instead of "+ 2" you might see:

• NEXT EVEN NUMBER — jump to the next even number (7 → 8).
• ADD 5 — add the given amount (10 → 15).
• GO UP TO THE NEXT 10 — round up to the next multiple of ten (16 → 20).
• DOUBLE IT / HALF OF IT — double or halve your number.
• ADD THE LAST DIGIT — add the ones digit of your number (23 → 26).

These are the same tap‑the‑answer core — you just have to read the instruction first. They start appearing early and mix in with the plain operations.

Game modes

• Classic — the main level‑by‑level journey. Perfect for learning the ropes.
• Endless — keep going as long as you can for the highest score.
• Daily Challenge — one shared puzzle a day; the same start for everyone.
• Journey / Phases — themed stages that layer in new operations and twists like memory and moving boxes.
• Build modes — Target, Order and Sequence variants that ask you to arrange or complete numbers instead of a single tap.

Power‑ups

Three power‑ups help you out of a tight spot. Each can be used a limited number of times per game, and your allowance grows as you clear more levels:

• ⏱ Add Time — top the clock back up when it's running low.
• ➡ Skip — skip a round you don't want to attempt.
• 🛡 Shield — absorbs one wrong answer so your run keeps going.

Scoring, coins and levels

Every correct answer adds to your score, and quick, unbroken streaks build a combo multiplier for bigger gains. You earn coins as you play and from daily missions; coins buy power‑ups, continues and cosmetic colours. Clearing levels also raises your rank and IQ‑style title, giving you a long progression to chase.

When you run out

If your run ends, MathLeap offers a few ways to continue the same run — spend coins, invite a friend, or (when available) watch a short ad — each limited per game. If you'd rather start fresh, choose Play Again. Nothing is ever a dead end.

Tips to climb higher

1. Estimate first. Glance at roughly where the answer should be, then find the exact box.
2. Protect your streak. A Shield early in a hard level is often worth more than saving it.
3. Use Add Time before the clock hits zero, not after you've already panicked.
4. Practise the daily challenge — it's a low‑pressure way to sharpen up.
